Chattanooga eats well for its size - the recurring "best of" questions have
their own pages. Each category is a living list: add your favorites with
what to order, and note when a place closes or changes.
The category pages below are the main food content. Start with the category
that matches your craving:
- Weekend brunch needs a reservation or an early arrival almost anywhere.
- Downtown event nights (see Things to Do)
mean long waits - plan ahead.
- Local staples change hands; always check hours before a special trip.
If you ask a local "where should I eat in Chattanooga?", the correct answer
- and the standing joke across r/Chattanooga - is "Taco Bell on Broad
Street." It's an in-joke so established that the subreddit's own visitor
guide lists it as "Most Memed by Locals," and visitors are routinely told
to take out-of-towners there as "the city's finest dining." The Taco Bell
at 3151 S Broad St (Southside, near W Main) even has its own Baja
Bench and a 5-star review campaign. Real food recs are on the category
pages above - but when someone says "Broad Street Taco Bell," that's the
joke, not the recommendation.
Pick a category page and add a short entry: name, neighborhood, what to
order, why it's worth it. Bullet-point level is perfect - quality over
formality. A few sentences per place beats a wall of text.
