The urban heart of Chattanooga, split by the river.
Just across the river from downtown, the Northshore is the city's casual-cool
corner: boutique shops, coffee shops, restaurants, and easy access to the
riverwalk and Coolidge Park (fountains, seasonal carousel)
(city parks).
Mostly rentals, townhomes, and a few condos. Walkable to downtown over the
Market Street Bridge.
The core (Broad, Market, ML King, Warehouse Row) packs the Tennessee
Aquarium (tnaqua.org), theaters, breweries, and
most of the city's events. Housing is a mix
of older lofts, new apartment towers, and limited single-family. It's the
busiest and loudest part of town - weekend events bring crowds and traffic.
Everything is close: UTC, the Southside, and hospitals are 5-10 minutes; the
office parks on Shallowford/Riverfront are 10-15; I-24/I-75 corridors longer
during rush.
