The westside neighborhood tucked between Lookout Mountain and the Tennessee
River, along Lookout Valley Parkway (US-41/64). A mix of older housing and
newer infill, it's a practical, under-the-radar pick with quick downtown
access.
Older brick and frame homes, some ranch-style, plus newer subdivisions and
apartments along the parkway. Prices sit below the eastside suburbs; you get
more house for the money, with tradeoffs on walkability.
Downtown ~10-12 minutes via Broad St / US-41, or I-24 westbound. Easy access
to Lookout Mountain attractions (Rock City, Ruby Falls, Incline) and St. Elmo.
The parkway is the main corridor - expect traffic near the interstate.
Lookout Valley has its own Hamilton County school cluster (Lookout Valley
Elementary/Middle/High) (hcde.org). A small,
close community; verify current zones.
